WhatsApp Rolls Out Edit ‘Sent Messages’ Feature: How you can edit WhatsApp messages?

Spread the love

WhatsApp, which Meta Company owns, is now rolling out a new feature. WhatsApp Edit ‘Sent Messages’ feature will allow users to edit their messages within a time limit.

In May, WhatsApp began beta testing an intriguing feature on its mobile and web applications. The Meta-owned firm is now launching an edit messages feature enabling users to modify their messages.

Both Android and iOS devices will be able to utilize this feature. To access the new feature, users must update their WhatsApp applications to the most recent version available on the App Store or the Google Play store.

The feature operates similarly to Apple’s Messages app, and users have a short time frame to modify sent messages on WhatsApp. Users can edit their sent text messages multiple times, but there is a 15-minute limit for editing.

To ensure the feature works smoothly, both the sender and the recipient must have updated their WhatsApp applications to the latest version. At present, the feature is not supported on WhatsApp Web and desktop applications.

Here is how you can edit WhatsApp messages on Android and iOS

  • Open the WhatsApp app on your device.
  • Click and hold the message that you wish to edit.
  • For iOS, tap on Edit from the message context menu. For Android devices, click on the three-dot menu at the top right corner of the screen.
  • Enter your new message.
  • Next, you can click the green check mark button next to the text box to save your edited message.
