Modigliani (1884-1920) was an Italian born artist. He worked mostly in Paris.
Amedeo best know for his distinctive portraits and nudes with elongated bodies, sleder necks, oval face and almond shaed eyes.

In later life, he devoted himself to sulpture and championed direct carving in stone using limestone.
He born in Jewish family in Livorno, Italy in 1884.
At 11, he developed Pleurisy. It is an inflammation of lung tissue that makes breathing painful.
While struggling with typhoid he went to Florence to see paintings at Uffizi Gallery art museum and the Renaissance palace of Palazzo Pitti.
In 2018, on of his painting showing a reclining nude women sold for over $157million at Sotheby's auction.
