Modus Operandi of Loan Fraud in India

  • The very first step in filing a cyber crime complaint is to file a written complaint with the city’s cyber crime cell.
  • When filing a cybercrime complaint, you must include your name, contact information, and mailing address. The written complaint must be addressed to the Head of the Cyber Crime Cell in the city where the cyber crime complaint is being filed.
  • If you are a victim of online harassment, you can contact a legal counsel to help you report it to the police station. In addition, you may be asked to submit certain documents with your complaint. This, however, would be dependent on the nature of the crime.
  • If you do not have access to any of India’s cyber cells, you can file a First Informa-tion Report (FIR) at your local police station. If your complaint is not accepted there, you may file a complaint with the Commissioner or the city’s Judicial Magistrate.
  • Certain cybercrime offences are punishable by the Indian Penal Code. To report them, file a cybercrime FIR with the nearest local police station.
