Bigg Boss 20 Episode 20 Review: Captaincy Race Gets Messier, Qazi vs Yung Explodes, and Rhiti’s Confidence Reaches a New Level
Bigg Boss 20 Episode 20 was not just another captaincy episode. It was an episode that exposed the real equations inside the house. While the captaincy task remained the central focus throughout the day, what truly stood out was how contestants judged each other based on personal biases, past conflicts, strategic interests, and convenience. The episode also gave viewers a clearer picture of who is playing straightforwardly, who is playing diplomatically, and who is slowly allowing confidence to turn into overconfidence.
After the controversial diss battle in the episode 19, the effects of the Rhiti-Qazi-Uditi fallout were still visible throughout the house. Every conversation, every rejection stamp, and every captaincy discussion seemed to circle back to the same controversy. It became evident that while the diss battle task had ended, the consequences of that battle were far from over.
Captaincy Task Continues
The episode 20 picked up from the captaincy selection process, where housemates had to explain why certain contestants should not become the captain of the house. The format was simple but effective. Contestants were not only judged on leadership qualities but also on their overall image in the house. This made the task far more personal than strategic.
The first major focus was on Amrapali. Several contestants explained why they felt she was not the ideal choice for captain. However, what stood out more was Amrapali’s growing understanding of the game. Over the past few days, she seems to have figured out a pattern when it comes to Qazi. Rather than constantly engaging with him, she appears to have realized that every reaction fuels him further. According to her observations, the more attention Qazi receives, the more dramatic and reactive he becomes.
Whether viewers agree with that assessment or not, Amrapali’s approach shows game awareness. She no longer seems interested in feeding unnecessary drama and prefers to pick her battles wisely.
Mary Kom Gets No Rejection Stamps
One of the biggest talking points of the captaincy task was undoubtedly Mary Kom. Surprisingly, she received no rejection stamps from any of the housemates. This immediately positioned her as one of the strongest contenders in the race.
On paper, it looked like the entire house respected her.
However, the next stage of the task revealed a completely different story. When it came time to determine who should actually become captain, very few contestants stood in support of Mary Kom.
In fact, the most shocking part was that Rhiti appeared to be one of the only contestants openly backing her. This exposed a fascinating contradiction. If nobody had objections to Mary Kom becoming captain, why was almost nobody willing to support her when the actual decision needed to be made?
The answer probably lies in Bigg Boss politics.
Being acceptable to everyone and being supported by everyone are two completely different things. Housemates may see Mary Kom as a good person, but when push comes to shove, they appear unwilling to hand her the power of captaincy. For me, this was one of the biggest reality checks of the episode 20.

Scout OP Faces Rejection
Another contestant who came under scrutiny was Scout OP. Both Arishfa and Gullu rejected him, which made the competition even tighter. While Scout has managed to remain relevant in the game, episodes like these reveal where contestants actually stand in the eyes of the house.
Captaincy tasks often act as a mirror, exposing hidden opinions that contestants otherwise avoid expressing openly.
Asif Pays the Price for His Past
The captaincy task also did not go in favor of Asif Khan. Despite repeatedly stating that he has been working on controlling his aggression ever since Salman Khan pointed it out during Weekend Ka Vaar, the house largely refused to move on from that image.
He became one of the most rejected contestants during the process. From Asif’s perspective, the criticism looked unfair. His argument was simple. If he is genuinely making efforts to improve, then continuously dragging up old mistakes serves no purpose. It was actually a valid point.
Contestants are often advised to learn from feedback and improve. If someone is visibly trying to change, should they continue being judged only for who they were weeks ago? The episode 20 left that question open for viewers to answer.
Mahhi’s Fairness Under Question
One contestant who surprised me during the captaincy discussions was Mahhi.
Earlier in the season, when Yung was a captaincy contender, Mahhi had strongly argued that he should not become captain because he had already enjoyed the opportunity once. Her reasoning at the time was simple and fair: somebody else should get a chance. Many viewers appreciated that stance.
However, Episode 20 revealed a different side. When similar situations emerged during the latest captaincy discussions, Mahhi did not seem to apply the same logic consistently. This is where her gameplay started looking contradictory.
If the principle was genuinely about giving everyone a fair chance, then it should apply regardless of who the contestant is. Instead, it came across as selective fairness. Some viewers may call it diplomacy. Others may call it strategy.
Personally, it felt closer to what Bigg Boss fans often describe as “doglapan.” The episode 20 exposed that certain contestants are willing to adjust their principles according to what suits their game.
Rhiti Wants to Lead
As discussions continued, Rhiti made her intentions clear. She expressed her desire to become captain and argued that she could lead the house effectively if given the opportunity. She suggested that she could be calm, composed, and capable of handling responsibilities.
However, the problem for Rhiti is that the diss battle controversy continues to follow her everywhere. No matter how much she talks about leadership, housemates cannot seem to move past her recent actions.
And honestly, that is understandable. Leadership is not only about winning tasks. It is also about accountability.
Has the Diss Battle Changed Rhiti?
One of the most noticeable developments in episode 20 has been the transformation in Rhiti’s attitude. Ever since the diss battle victory, there appears to be a major shift in her confidence level. Confidence is generally a positive quality in Bigg Boss.
But there is a very thin line between confidence and overconfidence.
For me, Rhiti now seems to be crossing that line. She appears eager to comment on every issue especially on Qazi. She wants to advise contestants. She wants to explain what others should or should not do. She wants her opinion to carry weight in almost every discussion.
It almost feels as if winning the diss battle convinced her that she was right about everything. The biggest issue, however, remains the lack of self-reflection. Even after multiple confrontations with Qazi and Uditi, Rhiti still does not seem willing to acknowledge that some of her comments may have crossed boundaries.
Instead of expressing regret, she appears proud of her performance. That attitude is gradually becoming one of the biggest reasons why other contestants continue questioning her suitability as captain.
The Final Captaincy Contenders
After lengthy discussions and eliminations, the house finally narrowed down its options. Rhiti, Love, and Mary Kom emerged among the contestants selected for the next stage of the captaincy race. Each contender represented a different style of gameplay.
Love benefited from stable relationships. Mary Kom benefited from respect. Rhiti benefited from visibility and confidence.
The question now was: who would ultimately convert those qualities into leadership?
Qazi vs Yung Becomes the Main Event
While the captaincy task dominated much of the episode, the biggest highlight came later.
A new task involving the contestants eventually sparked a major confrontation between Qazi Touqeer and Yung DSA. The disagreement began playfully before escalating after an incident in which Yung complained about a leg injury during the task.
Initially, the exchange appeared light-hearted. Housemates laughed. Competitors teased one another. Nothing seemed unusual. But like many Bigg Boss confrontations, things escalated quickly. Yung accused Qazi. Qazi defended himself. Tempers rose. Voices got louder.
Soon, the discussion turned into a heated argument.
The tension reached another level when Qazi lost his cool and removed his shirt during the confrontation. While the incident that upset Yung may not have been intentional, I personally feel Qazi handled the situation poorly. Yung had every right to be angry after getting hurt during the task, but instead of calmly explaining his side, Qazi’s reaction escalated the disagreement into a full-blown fight.
What stood out to me was that Qazi once again seemed determined to become the focal point of the situation. Whether it is a task, an argument, or a house discussion, he often appears to thrive on attention and screen presence. There is no denying that he is an entertaining contestant, but at times he seems to push situations further than necessary to ensure he remains at the center of the narrative.
In this particular case, rather than de-escalating tensions, his aggressive body language and dramatic reaction added fuel to the fire. While Yung’s frustration was understandable, the confrontation truly spiraled out of control because of how Qazi chose to respond. A calmer explanation could have ended the matter much earlier, but instead both contestants ended up in one of the biggest clashes of the episode.
The scene became one of the most dramatic moments of the episode 20.
Gullu Starts Playing Openly
Another important observation from the episode was the changing game of Gullu. After receiving feedback from Bigg Boss about his gameplay, he appears noticeably more direct. He is no longer holding back opinions. He is expressing his views openly. He is taking clearer stands.
For viewers who felt Gullu was previously playing safe, Episode 20 offered a completely different version of him.
And honestly, the house becomes more interesting when contestants stop hiding behind neutrality.
Final Verdict
Bigg Boss 20 Episode 20 was one of the strongest episodes of the season because it combined strategy, politics, confrontation, and character development.
The captaincy task exposed hidden loyalties and double standards. Mary Kom’s journey showed that respect doesn’t always translate into support. Mahhi’s decisions raised questions about consistency. Amrapali demonstrated increasing game awareness. Gullu finally began playing openly. Asif continued paying the price for his past image. And Rhiti’s confidence continued to evolve into what many viewers may now consider overconfidence.
The episode 20 intensified the already existing rivalry between Qazi and Yung. The two contestants have shared a competitive and often confrontational dynamic since the very beginning of the season, and Episode 20 only added more fuel to an already burning fire. With tensions now reaching a new high, their battle is shaping up to be one of the defining rivalries of Bigg Boss 20.
If Episode 19 was about the consequences of the diss battle, Episode 20 was about the consequences of perception. In Bigg Boss, winning a task is one thing. Winning people’s trust is something entirely different.
Rating: 4.5/5
Drama, strategy, hypocrisy, shifting alliances, captaincy politics, and a blockbuster fight. Episode 20 delivered almost everything a Bigg Boss fan could ask for and left viewers eagerly waiting to see who ultimately claims the captaincy crown.
