Many people have questioned its legitimacy. Is Z-library Legit? Is it legal to use Z-library? Such kinds of questions are floating all over the internet.
What is Z-library?
Z-library, formally known as Book Finder. It is a kind of shadow library that host almost all books in the world. If you have used this site then you know that Z-library is not just about books one of the main features is to provide Articles and Research Papers that are hard to find for students.
Its service is the same as the local library but it is in a digital world that contains millions of content available for free. It is a non-profit site that aims to promote free access to great resources, all ebooks are free to use and download.
Readers can download up to 5 books for free and they can also convert the format of the book easily with one click. But to change the format reader has to log in. Z-library digital content is up-to-date, users can download them for their kindle or any other ebook reader.
Is Z-library Legit? or is Z-library illegal to use?
It is true we all like things for free, and another way to see it is that providing books for free is a wonderful idea as it offers the underprivileged to get their hands on something that they can’t afford normally.
Still, keeping all these ideals apart, providing somebody work without their permission is illegal on both front ethically as well as in the eyes of law. It is perfectly illegal to upload pdfs, scanned copies or photographs of books that have a copyright on them.
Books are subject to the intellectual property right of the author and no one else can have them. Z-library is totally free website, but readers can donate a few dollars to them. Recently, on their website, they have started to run a fundraiser campaign.
In short, nobody can reproduce the book or any part of it on their own without the author’s permission. Since shadow libraries are naturally opposed to the law of copyright, this makes Z-library an illegal website. It is true that their intentions are right.

On one hand, it seems fair to get hands-on materials that are kept at a distance due to the high price and impossible to track, even though it is legally improbable.
No one is going to monitor the readers and their activities on such sites, also it doesn’t have any legal implications as well. So, the answer to the question of whether Z-library is legal to use or not totally depends on you.
In our opinion, small or minuscule fees should be applied to such transactions and a share should be provided to the author of the books.
